Guidelines for International Students Applying for Information Management Department of NKFUST
- This form is only for applicants who do not have overseas Chinesestatus.Overseas Chinese students who do not hold the R.O.C. nationality may apply for admission either as a “foreign student?or an “overseas Chinese student?The applicants who are found to use both statuses will be revoked.
- International students with a bachelor’s degree are eligible to apply for graduate study in Master’s programs at Information Management Department of NKFUST.
- International students who have already completed the degree program appliedfor, or have been expelled from any R.O.C. university, are not eligible to re-apply for admission. Breaking either of the above rules would result in immediate cancellation of the applicant’s admission or the stripping of the applicant’s recognized status as a student of NKFUST.
- Applicants are required to submit application forms with required documents to Office of Academic Affairs of NKFUST.(Application forms can be downloaded from website http://www.acad.nkfust.edu.tw/ad/)
※ Late application will not be accepted.
- Two copies of the completed application form .
- A photocopy of the graduation certificate from the highest foreign educational institute completed (in Chinese or English translation), and an English translation of the transcript of the student’s entire course work at that institute .
- Two letters of recommendation.
- A Health Certificate form (including an HIV test).
- A Study plan in Chinese or Foreign Languages.
- A proof of Financial Sufficiency(proof of sufficient funds for studying in the R.O.C..
- Application fee of NT$1,500 or US$70, to be remitted to the Cashier Section of NKFUST or to the NTUST bank account by telegram transfer to:
- Name of the Bank: Bank of Taiwan/Kaohsiung Branch.

- Each academic year begins on August 1 and ends on July 31 of the following year. The first semester usually begins in mid- or late-September, and the second semester begins in late February of the following year.
- International students may apply for scholarships to Office of Student Affairs after admission.
- The following tuition rates apply only to the 2004 academic year. (The rates are expected to vary annually thereafter.) 〔The exchange rate between New Taiwan dollar (NT$) and U.S. dollar (US$) on Jan.17, 2005 is 1 US$ = 31.80 NT$〕
- Graduate M.A. Programs
- Dormitory: Registered undergraduate and graduate students may apply for a room in the dormitory (shared with other students).
The fee is around NT$5,500-6,100 per semester. Information Management Department will be responsible for the dormitoryfee and assisting with the administrative procedure of applying for the dormitory
(Disabled, overseas Chinese and international students are first-choice people for the dormitory. At present, there are 1660 dorm beds in NKFUST; therefore, every applicant shall have a dorm bed as long as students applied for are less than 1660 people).
- Other expenses: Book expenses vary according to the courses taken. Mealson campus is about NT$6,000 a month.
- Every international student may obtain scholarships of USD. 4000 dollars (about NT $130,000) every academic year from Information Management Department after admission, but it isnecessary to work for our department 10 hours a week.
